What Is a Pigeon?

At the café outside the airport in Lisbon, a pigeon was searching for treats. She was limping; something was clearly wrong with one foot. Two men sitting at a table noticed there was a string wound round and round her claws. The pigeon was caught – though I didn't see how. A woman at the same table had a pair of scissors with her, and the rescue went well.

The foot wasn't exactly as good as new right away, but a few breadcrumbs slipped in after the operation. It was a lovely sight to see the gentlemen's dedication.
